Serving on the Board of a nonprofit organization has given me a better understanding and a unique perspective into the needs of my nonprofit clients, which in turn helps me to better serve those needs. Bio
Sandy joined Elko & Associates Ltd in 1998. She is a Director in the accounting and auditing department and a leader in the nonprofit niche. She works primarily with nonprofit organizations and municipal authorities. Sandy has a strong commitment and dedication to the firm and its staff, participating as a mentor to professional staff.
Sandy began her career at Touche Ross & Co in 1979, working in both Philadelphia and San Diego for seven years, before taking a 12 year hiatus to be a stay-at-home mom. At Touche Ross, Sandy’s time was divided between audit and tax services for a wide variety of nonpublic entities.
During her time as a stay-at-home mom, Sandy kept busy with volunteer work, including serving as treasurer of her children’s elementary school parent-teacher group for six years as well as teaching religious education at her parish school for ten years.
After joining Elko & Associates Ltd, Sandy continued with that volunteer spirit, joining the Board of Directors of Family Support Line, a nonprofit organization in Media, PA. Sandy spent four years serving as the Treasurer, and is currently the President of the Board. She also sits on the organization’s Executive committee and Budget & Finance committee. Additionally, Sandy was a member of the Audit Committee of the Rose Tree Media School District for two years.
Sandy and her husband, Bruce have four children and reside in Media, PA. When she’s not working, Sandy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading and playing the piano, as well as watching sports. She also enjoys traveling and skiing with her family.
