Len joined Elko & Associates Ltd in 1991 as Managing Shareholder of the Media office, a position he held until 2004. He was President of the Company from 2001 to 2004. As a shareholder in the accounting and auditing department, Len has established himself as an expert in various fields, specifically in the areas of manufacturing & distribution, not-for-profits, construction companies and unions.
His accounting career began in the "Big Eight," working for Price Waterhouse. Len left public accounting to assume the position of chief financial officer at the investment-banking firm of Drexel Firestone. Eventually, he returned to public accounting as a partner with Deloitte & Touche.
He credits his uncle for steering him into the public accounting arena. His father passed away when he was sixteen, leaving him to provide for his mother and two younger sisters. This made him focus, work hard and care for others - all traits that continue to define Len and make him an invaluable professional service provider.
Len takes the concept of "thinking outside the box" to new levels. He is able to impart the professional insight and advice necessary in a myriad of situations. As an example, Len assisted one of his clients in restructuring their stock repurchase agreements resulting in significant owner satisfaction while maintaining equity in the company. Also, Len has had significant experience in succession planning, most recently assisting an owner to transition his presidency to his daughter.
Len has always been committed to the community in which he lives. He is involved in various civic, professional, non-profit and religious groups, never shying away from providing leadership when asked. He has been a mentor and an example to the staff at Elko and has helped to impart this sense of community responsibility to them.
Len was born and raised in Springfield, PA. He has been married to his wife, Denise, for over 40 years. They reside in Wallingford, PA, and have three children and four grandchildren. In his free time, Len enjoys reading and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren both on and off the golf course.
